Thursday 11/3

Finish ch 10, As you read, make connections to Reed's poem, marking the passage and the nature of the connection. Also, continue to focus on motifs as you read. What patterns do you notice? Why are they interesting? Important? How does they further the text's messages?

In the book all Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque Reed's poem comes up in chapter 10. Reed's poem relates to the book very well. In the poem the drill sergent is telling the new cadets of all the gun parts that makes up a gun. One of the cadets in the poem thinks how the diffrnet parts to a gu remind him of certian things. In the poem the cadet really exsplains how he views everything the drill sergent is telling them about the gun parts. This relates to the book because it views Pauls thoughts and mind set in the war and the differnt things that come to his mind and his reactions.
