"Rd ch 8 and beginning of ch 9(-pg 202). Focus your annotations on your assigned character(s). What is his/ their perspective? Rows 1-3: Paul Rows 4-6 Russians soldiers."

In the book All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque the perspective of the Russia soldiers is sad almost. On page 191 Paul says the Russians have long since parted with whatever things they had. There for every little thing the Russians have pitiful clothing and small things like shell fragments exchanging with one one other. This shows they are in fact really close with the things from war they own. Like that those things are a part of them now since they lived the life a soldier in the war. The fact they only have that to trade for bread or exchange it for anything else is really sad and shows how much value stuff has when your in war.
